How current is this, and what does it not cover?
The answers reflect Taiwan Intellectual Property Office practice as we apply it in 2026. Statutory periods
are fixed by the Trademark Act; examination timelines are our observed averages and will move with TIPO's
workload, so treat them as planning figures rather than guarantees.
We do not publish fee figures here. Official fees and our charges depend on the filing and the number
of classes involved, so please ask us for a quotation on a specific case.
This guide covers procedure. For how Taiwanese courts have actually decided substantive disputes
— likelihood of confusion, genuine use, fair use, parallel imports, damages — see the
Case Law Library.
